A thought-provoking and challenging reflection written for God’s glory, not my own. Today, it often feels as though the enemy is gaining influence in our churches, our homes, our families, and even our nation. The world is attempting to act like the church, while the church sometimes tries to imitate the world.
If we would stop seeking to elevate ourselves and instead humble ourselves in service to the one true and living God, evil itself might begin to tremble. If we could bring our focus back from lofty illusions and return to practical faith, we might accomplish real good here on earth.
Scripture reminds us of the words: “Jesus I know, and Paul I know—but who are you?” Our walk of faith was never meant to be built on falsehoods or empty traditions. We serve a living God, and people deserve honest answers to their questions, not silence, dismissal, or confusion. No one should feel less Christian simply because they seek understanding.
One believer once asked me a sincere question:
“Why didn’t I fall when someone prayed for me?”
