Diary of a Pastor's Wife: How I Lost My Pastor, My Husband, My Life

One of the most sacred covenants made before God is the covenant of marriage—made even holier when both partners are united in Christ. For how can two truly walk together unless they walk in Him? I chose to walk alongside my husband, a pastor, in a life centered on God and ministry. He, however, chose to walk away—a decision I never imagined a pastor and servant of the Lord would make, especially one who left his wife, the First Lady of the church.

To First Ladies everywhere, my purpose in sharing this story is understanding and awareness. I want you to recognize how such heartbreak can happen and to be mindful of your relationship with your man of God. Scripture tells us that “a threefold cord is not quickly broken,” yet Satan is relentless, moving to and fro, seeking to sever that bond. In my case, he succeeded.

God has given me the strength and courage to share my testimony with the world—a story of a broken promise, a sacred covenant made before God and broken by man, even by a servant of God. It is a story born of pain, faith, and endurance.
